Heat Advisory: Pet Owners Beware

Please limit the amount of time your dog(s) are out in the heat and be sure to provide plenty of water during walks. High heat with hot sun keeps the concrete extremely hot, which radiates very closely to dogs. Dogs regulate their body temperature by panting, but have their limits. The hot surface temperatures can also burn the pads of their feet. If possible, dogs should remain in cooler temperatures throughout these long stretches of extreme heat.
